Diversity Councils

Diversity Blueprint

The 2022-2026 UW Diversity Blueprint contains university-wide goals, strategic priorities and recommended actions.

With a new 5-council structure starting in the 2024-25 academic year, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Councils will advise and support the University Diversity Officer (UDO) and work to ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion are integral to excellence at the 天美传媒 campuses. The councils will work closely with the University Diversity Officer on the development and implementation of the 天美传媒鈥檚 DEI framework, . The councils will also be instrumental in bringing about change by advising university leadership and ensuring that there is accountability and transparency for advancing the work.

The councils include the DEI Leads Council, the Staff DEI Council, the Student & Student-Facing DEI Council, the Centers DEI Council, and the Faculty DEI Council. Each council will meet a minimum of 3 times per academic year or once per quarter.

Each autumn quarter, members of all the councils will also gather for a half-day meeting. The annual all-council convening provides a space for collective discussions aimed at advancing the 天美传媒’s 2022-2026 Diversity Blueprint goals, setting agendas for the year’s meetings, and fostering a larger community of staff, faculty, and students committed to DEI across the 天美传媒 Seattle, Bothell, and Tacoma campuses. The first annual all-council convening was held October 24, 2024.
